Iran strikes U.S. partners as the conflict threatens oil traffic
Iran fired at Kuwait and other U.S. partners in the Gulf after renewed American bombardment, while attacks and restrictions threatened shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Washington says talks cannot resume until the attacks stop, and Brent crude was near $96 a barrel after rising about 7% for the week.
Why Americans should know: U.S. forces are directly involved, American allies are being attacked, and disruption in the Strait of Hormuz can quickly raise gasoline prices and inflation at home.
